On March 12, 2026, the Morrill Fire exploded across western Nebraska’s grasslands. Driven by extreme drought, 60+ mph winds, and bone-dry fuels, it became the largest wildfire in Nebraska state history, burning over 643,000 acres across Morrill, Garden, Arthur, Keith, and Grant counties. That’s an area nearly the size of Rhode Island.

The fire destroyed critical ranchland, fences, hay reserves, and livestock infrastructure. It displaced tens of thousands of cattle, left families grieving, and changed the landscape of the Nebraska Sandhills for years to come. One life was tragically lost.Months later, ranchers are still facing the hard work of rebuilding fences, sourcing emergency feed, and getting herds back on their feet.
That’s where the music comes in.
The Gypsy Heartbreakers are turning up the volume for recovery.
On Friday, June 26 at the Midwest Theater in Scottsbluff, we’re making this show a
Rock the Recovery benefit.

Just real help for the ranching families and communities hit hardest. This isn’t just another show — it’s a night of high-energy rock, soulful vocals, and theatrical fire that gives back to the people and land that make western Nebraska strong.
